Captain Miller Movie Review
''Killer Killer Captain Miller''
An amazing attempt from Kollywood to take the Tamil film industry to the next level. Dhanush finally gets the Pan Indian Blockbuster that he deserves. Let us jump into the world of Captain Miller and discuss it in detail!
OPENING
The movie starts off in pre-independant India and takes us through the journey of the protagonist from a normal young boy from a low caste to a Revolutionary who attacks the British Empire and Regional Kingdoms fiercefully. It shows his family, village and transformation and piques the interest of the audiences.
DHANUSH AS CAPTAIN MILLER
Kasthuri Raja Venkata Prabhu aka Dhanush is no doubt one of the best actors in not just kollywood but the entire Indian film industry. He dives into the character of Easu/Miller and becomes him with utmost perfection. His transformation scenes and different looks in the movie are the main highlights.
ACTING
The acting in the movie was extraordinary as all the characters play the role with finesse. Dr.Shivarajkumar fills the movie with a mass element and brings an emotional appeal. Sundeep Kishan's role is adequate and almost not noticable. Priyanka Mohan does a fine job. All the side actors outperform the main actors by doing such exceptional acting.
ACTION
The action in the movie is top notch and in a few scenes like the pre-climax and climax fight portions feels in par on Hollywood level. The vfx(visual effects) is minimal but is pretty good wherever used. The action sequences manage to give an afterlasting effect.
WRITNG AND DIRECTION
The director does an incredible job as his writing and direction are the major strength of the film. He has showed pre-independant India in way that no director has been able to show till now. He shows us the cut-throat reality of India before and during the British rule rather than glorifying someone. He has filled the movie with emotions and action which is a blockbuster combination.
MY MOST FAVOURITE SCENE
The most impactful scene according to me is the scene where the 300 protesters are killed. This scene is one of the best sequence of Indian cinema. The acting and emotional appeal in this scene haunts you and sits in your mind for a very long time.
SONGS AND BGM
GV Prakash gives his career best music in this film. While all the songs are good the background score is just too good. The music matches the movie and is one of the reasons to love the movie even more.
VERDICT
I will give the movie 8/10. This period action drama is on a whole new level. Good acting backed by astonishing direction with a legendary story. Be sure to watch this action spectacle on the silver screen!
