OPENING
I am pretty sure that everyone who has watched the movie will agree with me when I say that this movie had one of the best opening of Indian cinema. The mix of future, past and present scenes in the start of the movie was something that we have not seen before. The viewers are sucked into the movie within the starting 20-25 minutes itself.
RANBIR KAPOOR AS RANVIJAY SINGH
Ranbir Kapoor in the movie is just too good. His acting hit its peak in this movie. From the start till the end we see multiple shades of him in the movie like his schoolboy look, college stud look, Aziz the butcher, aged character, animal look and many more. While he is known for being a chocolate boy in the industry, this movie cooked and roasted him to bring a shade of him that we have never seen. He has actually transformed himself into an animal in the movie.
ACTING
What made this movie so good is the brilliant casting of actors.The acting in the movie was fantastic. The entire cast and side actors play their roles exceptionally. Rashmika Mandanna as the heroine was well cast. Anil Kapoor was one of main reasons for the audience to connect emotionally to the movie. He is indeed a perfectionist when it comes to acting. All the other actors like the sisters, family and cousin brothers also do a very good job. Tripti Dimri stole the show with her great acting and boldness.
BOBBY DEOL AS ABRAR
Bobby Deol deserves a special mention for his wonderful job in the movie. He plays the role of a ruthless antagonist but appears for only about 30minutes. Nonetheless he manages to send chills down our spine as his acting as Abrar was so gory and violent.
ACTION
The action in the movie is spectacular as this type of action has never been shown in India. The movie got an 'A' certificate and gained popularity due to the violence it showed. This movie shows action so brutally that it actually haunts the audience long after the movie is done.
WRITING AND DIRECTION
Sandeep Reddy Vanga gave us what he had promised(A Violent Film). After his last two blockbusters( Arjun Reddy and Kabir Singh) and this all time blockbuster it is safe to say that he is now one of the most wanted directors in Indian cinema. He attemped to make a movie that no one has ever attempted till now. Be it the bold scenes, cut-throat violent scenes or any scene of the movie, it felt so new to watch. He gave us one of the most talked about movie of 2023. In short, the story and direction department of Animal is just fascinating.
MY FAVOURITE SCENE
Although the whole movie was a treat to watch on the silver screen, the scene which was most impactful according to me was the classroom scene. That scene was goosebumps worthy. The whole theatre was filled with whistles and hoots as people could not control their excitement!
MUSIC
There is no doubt that all of Ranbir Kapoor's movies give chartbuster worthy songs. Though this movie has a different type of album to match the experimental theme it just hits the ball out of the park. The ost(original sound track) of this movie is on another level, Hats off to all the singers and music composers!
VERDICT
I will give this movie a 10/10. This movie is a bloody blockbuster. Ranbir Kapoor, Sandeep Reddy Vanga and Pritam have created a phenomenal movie that is their careers best work. This is definitely gonna stir up some controversies whilst wrecking havoc on the box office.
